Privacy policy

This policy explains what Track Tutor collects, how we use it, and your choices. If anything here is unclear, contact us at support@tracktutor.com.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (for password sign-in) a salted bcrypt hash of your password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and basic profile info from those providers.

Group and content data

When you create or join a group, we store the group's name, your role in it, and your voice part assignments. Songs you upload include the audio files themselves and any metadata you provide (writers, performers, arrangers, lyrics).

Audio files

Uploaded audio is stored in Google Cloud Storage. Streaming URLs are signed and short-lived; only authenticated members of a group can play tracks belonging to that group.

Usage data

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized page-view and interaction data so we can understand how the product is used and improve it.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate Track Tutor.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send transactional email — group invitations, password resets, and account notices.
• To improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your audio content for any purpose other than serving it to authorized members of your group.

Third-party services

Track Tutor relies on the following third parties to operate. Each has its own privacy practices.

• MongoDB Atlas — database hosting.
• Google Cloud Storage — audio file storage.
• Google and Apple — OAuth sign-in providers (only if you choose to use them).
• SendGrid — transactional email.
• Google Analytics — anonymized usage analytics.
• Vercel — application hosting.

Your choices

• Account deletion. Email us at support@tracktutor.com to delete your account and associated data.
• Group deletion. Group owners can delete a group from its settings page; this removes all songs, playlists, and memberships within that group.
• Cookies. Track Tutor uses session cookies for authentication. Clearing cookies will sign you out.

Children

Track Tutor is not directed at children under 13. Please do not create an account if you are under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice.
