Feature Freeze Friday!
With the recent addition of group calendars and communications, we're happy to announce a feature freeze! It's time to focus on the user experience.
The Road One-Point-Oh
We've hit a milestone here at Track Tutor. With the addition of group calendars and communication, we can now focus on improving the UI and the overall user experience. No more major features will be added until after the official 1.0 release in the fall.
Here is the current feature-set we're launching with:
Create and manage groups
Group owners and managers can add songs their group
- Songs can have up to 6 tracks
- Part-panned audio files are supported
- Sheet music & lyrics can be added to the songs
A multi-track player for songs that allows your singers to:
- Control the volume of each part
- One click part-predominant to highlight a single part
- Mute and solo any part
Create group and personal playlists
- A group can create playlists
- A playlist can be flagged as private so only a subset of the group members can see it
- The player will play all songs in the playlist sequentially
- Songs and playlists can be repeated
- Singers can create their own personal playlists from the group songs
Annotated Sheet Music
- Singers can add personal markup and annotations group sheet music
- Director's can add group markup and annotations for all members to see
- Singers can toggle markup layers on and off
Organize and communicate with group members
- Create calendar entries for rehearsals, gigs, or any important group dates
- Send messages to all or some of the members in your group
3rd Party Site Embedding
- For groups that host their own MP3 files, there's an embeddable player that can be used anywhere by anyone for free
- A group can embed their playlists in member areas of their existing websites
Find and Access Shared Songs
- Through a partnership with barbershoptags.com you can add any of their tags to your group songs to be added to your playlists
- Find songs from learning track creators and request to add them to your group songs
Player Companion Apps
- There is a companion app for both Android and iOS
- The apps focus only on the player but supports:
- View your groups
- View and play playlists
- As native apps, songs can be downloaded to your device for off-line listening
- Songs keep playing even when the app is not focused or when the screen locks
- Song controls are available on the lock screen
- Song controls are also available when connect via Bluetooth (for when you driving your car)
- Apps do not include any group, playlist, song or creator management features
Track Tutor for Creators
- Learning track creators can add their song library to Track Tutor
- Groups can find songs and request to add songs to their group - creators arrange payment and approve the request
- Shared songs can be added to a group's playlist just like group songs
